Are you playing it safe or are you following the cadence of your own authentic voice? In a world that is full of noise, boatloads of information and so much to do, it can seem like an almost insurmountable adventure to explore the unique path of your own contribution.
However, if you're a change agent, your authentic voice is like a siren song. No matter how much surface disruption there may be, your inner voice surreptitiously arises and leads you by the heart, risking the path less traveled.
Think of anyone who's done anything extraordinary and you'll notice they went against the grain, against the norm of the day. Finding your authentic voice is not a linear experience. You can't follow a blueprint, a map, or a plan. It is only in your deep partnership with Life that you'll come to know the sweet alignment of your passion, purpose, and promise.
Here are 4 elements sure to guide you along the extraordinary experience of discovering your authentic voice and unique contribution:
1. Embody Your Authentic Essence.
If you're having trouble accessing the flow in your business, you might want to explore the degree to which you fully express your Authentic Essence. How others see you, and what you bring to the game, is directly related to how you see yourself. This energy exchange is as palpable as your heartbeat.
Take a deep breath. Breathe, Relax, Expand into your Infinite Being. Feel your Essence seeping into every cell in your body, saturating the microcosmic infrastructure of you with what's True. Notice the nuances of character, personality, values, and gifts. Who is this Being that arises, like Venus from the frothy ocean, fully poised for co-creation?
Bring that Authentic Essence to your work, to your business, to your relationships, and notice how a new world materializes before your very eyes. You'll say things differently, and the tone of your voice will shift. Your words will excite you and bring into being what's true about you. You'll relate to people differently. You'll no longer see yourself at the effect of your boss, your spouse, or your own self-imposed limitations.
Accessing your authentic essence re-calibrates your cells, re-engineers your body, and re-orchestrates your world to embody the dynamically vibrant you.
2. Take Responsibility for Your Own Experience.
It's comforting to have a shared experience. It feels good when others reflect your point of view. Sometimes, though, the most powerful thing you can do to ‘own your energy' is to voice what you know to be so, even though it may be unpopular. Many religions and movements began this way, before falling into set rules. Often, it is in setting off on your own path that what is true finds you.
Outsourcing your power to a belief system, or other people, even well-intentioned diminishes your discernment and your power. Blaming life circumstances or family conditioning is certainly a seductive and common response. However, you don't need to go around the block too many times to realize that it's a road leading nowhere. When you do the things you've always done, you'll get the same results. So if you want tomorrow to be different than yesterday, you need to make a different choice.
Responsibility is a power tool. You can only change what is yours to change. You have a huge bandwidth of possibility available in each moment. However, you will be unable to access it until you own your power to choose. Nothing changes until you do.
Once you take responsibility, your expectations will be unleashed. Your creative energy will be available to create new and dynamic experiences. You'll be free to take responsibility for the things you truly care for, the people you're here to serve and the message that you're eager to share.
3. Trust Your Knowing, More Than Your Thinking.
Rules and dogma live in the land of the mind. Your capacity to ‘feel' connects you to the living landscape of infinite supply. We're not talking about emotions here, which are the feelings + the story. This is your capacity to feel, sense, and know. The more that you own your feeling, the more fine-tuned your discernment becomes, and the more you can trust your knowing.
“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.“Steve Jobs, Apple CEO
The playground of certainty and safety may at first grant you a certain degree of comfort, but it soon becomes a prison from which there is no escape. The paradox of being an evolving human is that you crave security, and yet you come alive with risk. It is in your DNA ‘to boldly go where no man has gone before.' The species would not have thrived if the yearning to experience more were not firmly entrenched at the cellular level.
Yet being more requires letting go of what you know, of who you have been until this moment. It demands the relinquishing of safety nets. It begs to break the rules. And still, you want to hear a soothing voice that guarantees you will remain intact. This tightrope of trust must be navigated to fully engage life and activate your burgeoning potential.
Relentless trust is accessed from your deep knowing, not your intellect. Inner resources nourish and sustain you as you dive beyond the edge. The magic, the discovery, the miracles are never birthed from the intellect, they arise outside of the framework of what you know. True knowing is a living essence and cannot be contained in dogma and dictates. It's free, just like you.
4. Spend Time in the Spaciousness of Infinite Creation.
Bask in the ‘nowhere to go and nothing to do.' Luxuriate in the ‘nothing's missing and there's more.' It doesn't matter whether you sit silently and synch up to the rhythm of your breath, lose yourself in the frenzy of creative expression or soak up the sounds of nature, your direct connection to Life will re-calibrate your cells and shift your energy into abundant flow.
It is often in the experience of spaciousness that you will come to know – deep in the bones know – that there isn't much for you to do, that it's more about who you're being that makes a difference.
As you experience yourself as the pulse of life, and not the come and go of thoughts and emotions, you come to know ‘who you are.' This can't be taught, it can only be known. You are designed for greatness. Free your essence and unleash your unique contribution!
