Why Buy Stock Photography (When You Can Get Stock Photos For Free)

Stock Photography

I'm getting ready to move this weekend but wanted to give you a quick heads up on a fabulous deal I stumbled upon.

If you're a blogger or digital marketer this is for you! AppSumo is hosting a great deal with Depositphotos for premium stock photography. It's only $49 for 100 images.

Why do you need to pay for stock photography? Here are three reasons why I do it:

1. Uniqueness. I use free stock photography sites all the times. My faves are Unsplash, Pexels, and Pixabay. You can use their images with no attribution. Great for blog photos and quote graphics, not so much for FB ads, blog banners, headers and other web graphics. The problem with these sites is that everyone else is using them. So … you'll see your images used by lots of other people.

2. Volume. You can't compare free stock photography sites with the sheer volume of images available on Depositphotos, 40+ million high-quality stock photos. There are loads of stock photos available for an infinite number of keywords.

3. Reciprocity. I consider myself a creative so I like to support other creatives. I do this by sharing links on my blog when I use free stock photography but I also like to support by purchasing photography.

I've purchased plenty of stock photography in the past and paid as much as $6 per image.  In this AppSumo deal, you can get 100 for just $49. You can stack the deal too (get more than one). That's a steal of a deal and it ends at midnight, or when the codes run out.

Here are some of the stock photography I placed in my favorites. I'm planning on using these for an upcoming event:
