Want to Make a Difference? Answer the Call.

By Adela Rubio

Those who make a difference answer the call. It's never convenient to start a movement or spark a breakthrough. The ones who do often have insurmountable odds to overcome. Think of your personal heroes. What makes them so memorable? They answered the call.

To create great shifts you must be willing to walk along the path of the unknown. Some may consider that you need great courage to choose to walk where no one treads. Not necessarily.

It's not about courage and conviction, it's more about what's compelling. Something beckons to you, silently or forcefully. You keep saying, “YES!”

You don't flinch when others don't see it your way. It doesn't matter if there's any physical confirmation of the road you're on. There is something that you know, even when you don't have any evidence. Even when no one else sees it! Your body moves you, of its own accord, along an unknown trajectory. You feel you must. You know you must.

It is not decided by votes what is true; otherwise we could never come to any truth, ever. People will vote for what is comfortable — and lies are very comfortable because you don't have to do anything about them, you just have to believe. Truth needs great effort, discovery, risk, and it needs you to walk alone on a path that nobody has traveled before. Osho

So it's not about mustering up anything. It's about following what calls to you at your core. It may not be comfortable, it may even be downright unpleasant, but you can't say “No.”

Where is that compelling call leading you today?
