Morning Musing, Writing Practice

I'm a long time journal writing aficionado and attest to the power of capturing your inner world on a page.  Whenever I've looked back in previous journals I've often been shocked by the person I used to be. Nothing will more quickly attest to the leaps you've taken than to re-read the thoughts, feelings and experiences of earlier times.

As someone who is highly creative, and has a gazillion ideas and a tendency to follow the flashing lights, I also loved the benefits of journal writing and it's ability to shift how your brain works.

Here's what I've decided to do: For the next 30 days, I will share the musings that arise from my daily journaling. I'm taking excerpts from my daily journaling with insights and invitations. I call them Morning Musings, so our 30-day writing project is called the Morning Musing Project.

My  intention for this project? To become more aware of my inner voice, to take action on my inner promptings and to more consciously craft my playground. I'll set specific intentions and goals for the Morning Musing Project, because focused awareness creates powerful shifts. That's how I like to play.

Ready to upgrade your energy and engagement, your awareness and your activation? Join us! See below for details how. It's easy peasy.

Here's the morning musing that inspired this 30-Day Writing Project…

Morning Musing

Deeply musing this morning on the gift in every challenge. The past 3 years have been a wild ride with nary a respite. hahaha! I'm still good, no matter what.

I know that every time I look for the opportunity in any challenging situation it shifts things, especially me. It rearranges my world and the perfect people and places appear synchronistically. Very often I tread in areas of great discomfort. What a shocker, right? Most of the time I face it, rather than fear it. Sometimes I forget. I forgive myself and begin again.

What if these situations present unique opportunities?

It's a choice.
It all is.
To step in,
not away.
To fully immerse,
not avoid.

Today, more often than not, I move through whatever I encounter with more awareness. When I don't – yes, it still happens – I own it and clean it up.

You're Invited

This theme of big shifts has been present throughout my life. It's made me especially equipped for times of chaos and uncertainty. There's no doubt that this long period of sustained shifts has honed my skills even more. I frequently find the feel of peaceful places within myself. I'm less needy. I'm getting better and better at the receiving game. Yes, my boat gets rocked still, but I find my steady more easily.

Want to join me on the writing project? Play for as long or as little as you like. Write every day or not. Share your writing or not. Do it your way, but dive in. We're sharing our writing and insights in the Writing Circles Facebook Group. I love hosting a connected and beautiful circle of conscious, creative catalysts. It's a warm and caring community, full of amazing people.

Feel the zing of this writing adventure? Join us! Post your intentions for the 30-Day Morning Musing Project below and a link to an introductory post (if you have one).

Here's to feeling and finding your way to your creative essence no matter what!

  1. Hi Adela. Two things prompted my desire to join you in this writing project. (1) I’ve been feeling inspired to publish a book I’ve been thinking about and know that writing regularly helps activate that flow. (2) I often have insights on how my everyday experiences support me in being more empowered in life so I look forward to capturing these on paper. Plus I’m heading to Cuba this weekend. With no internet access, I feel like more will be birthed through my experiences.

    1. Awesome, Nat! You have specific intention and goals. I’m also playing in the writing a book stream. Enjoy your trip to my homeland. I look forward to your writing.
