Finding the Edge of Choice

PhotobucketYou may believe that you are responsible for what you do, but not for what you think. The truth is that you are responsible for what you think, because it is only at this level that you can exercise choice. What you do comes from what you think. A Course In Miracles

Until you get to the experience of ‘who you really are,' awareness of your thinking is a primary device for evolution. Reigning in your thoughts can be like trying to control a torrent of raw emotion . . . proceed with caution and compassion.

Take it slow, there really is no rush. You will find out eventually that reactionary and critical responses are another diversionary tactic of the powerful illusion that you have bought into. It may take a bit of patience to snap out of the stupor.

In the meantime, use your breath as a bridge to create space in your thinking. Just getting to the pause . . . the space between the inhale and the exhale . . . will anchor you in your beingness and will facilitate the diving off to the choice point.

Be still. Feel the edges of TRUE inching toward you as you pause at the edge of where the dream ends and you begin.

Stillness permeates your presence first, then TRUE choice arises.
