Holidays and holy days are a wonderful time to pull in and reflect. They're dimensional portals of collective energy that we can buy into or transcend. You choose, darlings!
Thanksgiving can be a time of gathering with family and friends, enjoying a great meal and noticing the goodness of life. It still is that for me. We have prepared and planned a wonderful feast at my daughter's today.
Thanksgiving can also be a time to withdraw from the energy of out there and bring your attention to who you are being.
Gratitude and goodness is not a once a year event. It's an ongoing expression of the gifts that live within you. It's a natural outpouring of the love that nourishes your being and seeks to connect with life at large.
It's NOT the big things, it's the little things.
- Holding the door for a mom struggling with kiddies and groceries
- Smiling at the person sitting alone at your coffee shop
- Bringing a delicious dish to someone who doesn't cook
- Noticing each and every good thing in your world
This year I noticed that no matter what challenge was tossed my way I have my laughter and my lightness. I have the love of my children, grandchildren, and many, many friends. I am extraordinarily healthy and resilient. I know that life is good and grand (even when it appears not to be). Those little things turned out to be very big things.
Right now, take stock of 3Â little blessings in your world (that are actually pretty big). Naming and claiming your gifts is one of the surest ways to amplify them. If you feel moved to, share them below in the comments.
This year has been one of the most challenging for me. It's also one where peace has taken up full-time residence in every aspect of my being. I don't feel driven by have to and must do. The little things add up to a bevy of blessings.
After weeks of basking in this bliss, I'm finally integrated enough to share. I don't ever remember a time when peace and contentment have held such sway day-to-day.
After many, many false starts my energy is rising to be with others again. Though I haven't been as expressive outwardly this year – through my writing and events – I am feeling renewed and refreshed and ready to begin again. Self-care works wonders!
Thanks to every one of you that have texted or emailed (and even called) to check on me. I am infinitely grateful for your kindness and love. May it return a hundredfold.
Happy Thanksgiving!
PS Writing Event starts next Tuesday, Nov 28. Sharpen your pencils! Registration page link coming this weekend.
