Engage the Other

Love

“Love is the only thing where the mind is not needed; and that is where the West is wrong: it brings in the mind even there! Osho

Whether you're engaging love from the context of your intimate partner, your children or your friends, consider that it is not a DOING but a BEING. It does not engage your intellect, it engages your wonder and openness.

Love is a deep listening of the other. It is a giving where you ARE available for the BEING with another. It is NOT about you, it is a rendering of yourself upon the altar of communion.

Today, notice your level of interest and engagement with another. Whether it's at home or at work, notice whether there is dialogue within your mind and a focus upon yourself instead of who you are being with.

Today, when you are with someone be interested in THEM 20 times as much as you ordinarily would be. Extend your presence and fully commit to who you are with. Notice what's different.

I'll bet you'll have a very different experience of ‘the other.'
