At some point in your Life adventure, you come to the realization that the source and solution to your problems lie within you. You are no longer satisfied with experts and external authorities, but yearn to come to a true understanding. After decades of conditioning and training, you may feel a little rusty tapping into that still small voice. How can you separate truth from fiction in your world?
The first step is to relinquish separation: from others, yourself, and your own knowing. In many traditions, the mind is seen as the source of much of the problem. This is true to some extent, your mind is a linear aspect of your being, but its function is crucial to move about in the world of time and space. What if you could embody the limited and unlimited aspects of your nature simultaneously? You can and one of the ways to come to this understanding is to suspend judgment and welcome ALL aspects of your nature.
Once you begin to notice how you can BE both the mind and the BEing, judgment starts to drop away, and slowly you will fall into moments of beautiful silence. By being in a state of witnessing you will fall into the gaps between your thoughts and experience ever-increasing moments of awareness and higher consciousness.
“Let me tell you why you’re here. You’re here because you know something. What you know you can’t explain, but you feel it. You’ve felt it your entire life, that there’s something wrong with the world. You don’t know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you to me. Do you know what I’m talking about?”
Morpheus from the movie “The Matrix”
Here are four ways you can accelerate this inner alchemy:
1. Turn off the auto pilot. Take your routine, everyday activities and turn them into opportunities for awareness. It could be doing the dishes or driving the car, feel every action as if it were the first time you were doing it. Focus on the feel of every movement until you are in a state of heightened awareness.
2. Tune in to your body, thoughts, and feelings. Your body is the source of infinite knowing. Learn to place your attention and sense your body’s energy from the inside out. Feel its presence, its aliveness. Notice the energy in your hands, until your attention can encompass your whole body. Expand your awareness of your thoughts and your feelings. When you are able to notice your body, thoughts, and feelings your awareness will begin to operate from a state of inner power and resonance.
3. Question Everything. Routines and habits can lead you to live a very mechanical life. It's important to step back and examine why you are living the way you are. Is it because this is really the way it is, or are you just trying to please or satisfy how others think you should live? Remember to bring along curiosity on the adventure, it's sure to keep judgment at bay, and allow insights to arise.
4. Open to Divine Downloads. Shift from horizontal to vertical awareness. Your mind works in the dimensions of the past and the future, a horizontal orientation. To be present and totally aware is to be in a state of spaciousness, dropping your intellect. This doesn't mean you drop into a deep slumber, it is simply a move into a depth of understanding and perspective. When you move vertically that is a movement of consciousness, which is awareness.
“Awareness is the greatest alchemy there is. Just go on becoming more and more aware, and you will find your life changing for the better in every possible dimension. It will bring great fulfillment.”
Osho
Upgrading your awareness is an ongoing practice. It is not just simply about being aware but experiencing a heightened sense of awareness. Through this heightened awareness, you can more easily interpret your thoughts and emotions and figure out what your true feelings and motivations are. As you engage in the alchemy of awareness, you come to know who you really are and experience the playground you are here to bring into being.
Beautiful Adela. I like #3 and the point you made there about “bring along curiosity on the adventure.” I’m going to start being more curious and try to shake up some of the routine!
Thanks.
~Debra
Curiosity is one of my fave energy shifting tools. It brings out the child-like wonder in all of us. 🙂 Thanks, Debra.
Adela, this article touched me in ways I can’t describe! It’s truly the theme of the day!
Luv how alignment shows up, Terry. Nothing like synching up. 🙂
LoveLoveLove this—can’t wait to play with my awareness today in all areas—especially seeing how they are moving toward harmony and where I’m blocking the flow—the games afoot! Thanks Adela
Inner harmony is the playground. Enjoy, Alisha!
