Passion: as many definitions as the
universe is deep and wide, as many
interpretations, flavors, textures
and shadows.
Passion – an intense jolt, a rolling wave,
the quietest calm of soulful creation.
Passion is you, passion is me,
passion is we.
Have you ever seen a tree with the top peeled off and peeked inside only
to find it burning on the inside?
I did, in a recent dream. I was amazingly calm as I noted the flames
leaping towards my face. I wasn't concerned, I was fascinated.
My sleeping hours are very awake and alive with images lately.
You just heard about the tree, burning up invisibly from the inside.
There have also been crumbling edifices and enormous waves that cradled
surfers in a translucent wave as I sat on the beach, admiring them. I
found them fascinating.
Isabelle Adjani said, “Passion surprises. One doesn't search it.
It can happen to you tomorrow.”
It can happen to you, as it did to me, in my sleep.
I wrote a while back that sometimes we expect when Divinity speaks
we hear James Earl Jones voices dramatically burning bushes?
It seems to me burning trees in dreams are pretty darned close.
Divinity always and ever and especially for me likes to add dollops of
humor in my life – humor of my quirky taste.
So – for you, today, my dreams offer you the tasty morsels of magic,
passion, love and openness.
Several days after dreaming that tree dream and I see how my life work is doing
overtime hours. I was reviewing earlier lessons shared here and I see
how my dreams fit perfectly within my recipe-for-a-passionate-life say,
in this in sequence:
1. Close your eyes and invite magic, passion and love to preside.
2. Open your eyes and see what is in front of you. Open your ears to
hear what sounds surround you.
Whatever your skin is touching, really feel it.
Experience it, in all its mundaneness, completely.
Kiss “halfway there” goodbye.
Welcome “wholely and holy” into your life now.
Tonight, when you go to sleep invite magic, passion
and love to preside.
Then open your eyes and see what is in front of you,
just as we did during our exercise today.
Invite love and magic in. Be open to experience everything richly that
this precise moment is offering you, whether you are
awake or asleep.
Instead of labeling it “Good” or “bad” or waiting to
offer your next opinion or quip, allow yourself to
simply and gently be fascinated with this precise
moment instead.
Pedro Almodovar said, “I think that the consciousness
of passion makes you act very differently.”
Today dwell in the magic, passion and love in each
precise moment.
Let's take our closing time today to issue and
invitation to magic, passion and love.
Let's call it in, now.
